The study explored the interplay between craft, social relationships, cultural traditions, community practices, and the environment, highlighting how craftsmanship reflects community resilience and diversity.
Students conducted fieldwork at Sargalaya Kerala Arts & Craft Village in Iringal, Vadakara, a hub revitalising traditional arts and empowering marginalised communities, especially women, through sustainable livelihoods. They also engaged with allied practices like Kalaripayattu and Theyyam.
Using methods such as field observation, interviews, sketching, and photography, students analysed the connections between crafts, community, environment, and culture. The study culminated in an exhibition showcasing findings through interactive displays, emphasizing the relevance of traditional practices today
