Abstract: The key intent of the units was to understand the nature and meaning of symbolic and metaphoric visual representations of ideas. Examine visual icons associated with social, political, and cultural movements or behaviours. Understanding the impact of iconography in the contexts of art design, technology, and socio-political movements Use signs, symbols, and metaphors to express a conceptual idea within a specified context.
This course will engage the student to identify and explore the signs, symbols, and metaphors from visual cultures to develop a meaningful engagement with visual communication design. Along with the theoretical and historical investigations, the course will also focus on building creative and critical capabilities through a practice-led approach.
