Workshop Series Posters: Uruvam Community Art Project, Chapter III
The "Closed Body" was more than just an exhibition of photographs. As a visual designer, my role was to grasp the essence of curatorial thinking, which heavily involves the perception of space, time, and the body, and develop visual designs for the project. Curators Sudheer, Jayanandan, and Neema played a crucial role in enabling a deeper understanding of the photographic project. The project is an outcome of their visits to the homes of theatre performers and captured the artist's interpretations of time, space, and the body during the time of the pandemic and global lockdown.
The exhibition space at "Chembra" was designed to enhance the overall experience of the "Closed Body" as an immersive form of experiential art. This was achieved through the integration of various performance events, and effective use of the space aimed at broadening perspectives on the experience of seeing being and perceiving. The illustrations for this project were developed solely based on my experiences while travelling with the project.
