Unit Abstract: This 10-day workshop on illustration for communication is designed to help students develop a grounded understanding of visual communication through hands-on exploration of illustration techniques. The focus is on building a sensitive approach to visual language, identity, and the importance of context. Students will engage with three key projects that move from the concrete to the abstract, respond to given briefs, and develop visual language rooted in contextual understanding. 

Throughout the workshop, students are encouraged to generate ideas both individually and collaboratively, reflecting on their own processes while learning from others. The workshop also invites students to consider the social, cultural, and political dimensions of the visuals they create, encouraging a more thoughtful and aware engagement with the visual world around them.
